First of all its so good to see some familiar names! Also, hope none of us float away before this dreary rain ends!! The biggest take away that I would like to share is about the 100 questions. The first time I completed a unit plan I wrote my 100 questions separately and it was a lot harder than when I included them in each lesson. I think last semester was my best stab at this when I placed the questions in the lesson when I would actually ask the DOK questions.
There was a pretty familiar theme when we were asked what we would do if it wasn't raining. Who else has been singing, "Rain, rain, go away, come again another day?" I know I have!

Hi! It is nice to meet you. When I was copying and pasting the lesson plan 10 times for the assignment, I was wondering if the questions were included with each lesson since there was a spot for them in the template. I was going to ask her about it but someone else did so I didn't have too! I like the idea of having them in each lesson and I may tier the questions in the lesson so that I have each level covered. I was going to post a picture but it won't let me, so here is the link: http://teachthought.com/critical-thinking/blooms-taxonomy/25-question-stems-framed-around-blooms-taxonomy/
ReplyDeleteHi Niki, I am excited about the way she is having us write the 100 questions, 10 per lesson plan. I think it will make them much more organized. I also had to do this for another class, and I just wrote 100 questions and numbered them 1-100. I am looking forward to doing this lesson plan and tying the other assignments to it!
ReplyDeleteHey Niki! I also took a less than ideal approach the first time I had to write 100 questions to accompany a unit. I wrote 10 per lesson but I waited until I was done writing them. Writing them into the lesson like we did for Teaching of Reading (I believe, they all muddle together at this point) was much more effective!
ReplyDeleteYes, there is a spot for them in the template, and yes, you will incorporate them into the lessons as the plan suggests... however, the powers that be ask for them to be turned in ahead of time!!
